Security is strenghten
We spend many hours in Åhus Beachhandboll festival’s organisation to develop the security on and around the festival. When you, like us arrange a festival inside a community, which is the charm of the whole concept, problems arise.
All the visitors need to take themselves from the parking lots and where they live to the festival area on the beach. In our case it means many take the shortcuts through the villa quarters, which can of course be understand as annoying in one otherwise quite calm town. We’re working intensively with security on the festival area, for example with fence and surveillance.
Anyone caught with alcoholic beverages will be escorted out of the festival grounds.
New terms
At the registration the moment you accept the terms which makes the leader responsible for every occurrence in Åhus and there it’s also cleared that if a team misbehaves they’re disqualified immediately and are being send home. Besides, such behaviour is being reported to Svenska Handbollsförbundet (the Swedish handball community). Unfortunately we had a few of those cases 2008 and we plead to teams and players who want to go to Åhus for partying to please stay home!
We will in all of our circulars and on our homepage being very clear about what’s current. We’re working together with the commune to guide the visitors to the less sensitive streets. Contracts will be written with all the places where teams, leaders, parents and other guests are staying.
A Festival for everybody
Åhus Beachhandboll Festival is an event for everybody and a folk party which is unique in the world of handball.
